Online Portrait Drawing for Beginners

6 class meetings on Zoom

This class will cover all of the basics of portrait drawing for beginners including facial proportions for adults and children, rendering eyes, nose, lips & ears using the planes of the face, how to capture likeness, and basic bone/muscle structure of the human head.

Supply List:
• graphite Pencils (2H, 4H, 5H, 2B, 4B, 6B)
• graphite sticks
• synthetic eraser
• kneaded eraser
• charcoal pencils (soft, medium, hard)
• tortillions/blending stumps
• toned drawing paper (any size)
• drawing paper (any size)
• utility sketchbook/scratch paper (any size)
• white chalk pastel pencil and white chalk pastel sticks
• tracing paper
• print outs of black and white portrait photographs (recommended: self-portrait photographs or photographs of celebrities or interesting characters you'd like to draw-bring photographs you can draw on top of!)

Optional: Newsprint drawing pad, preferred images to work from, drawing board with
clip, blue tape

Policies & Procedures

This class needs a minimum number of 4 students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met 48 hours before the class begins, the class will be canceled/rescheduled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by telephone or email, and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure).

Please purchase a separate registration for anyone else who may be attending the class with you.

Cancellation / Refunds
Program attendance is the responsibility of the participant. Failure to attend a class does not entitle a participant to a transfer, makeup, prorate or refund. No refunds are issued for registrations that are cancelled without 7 days' advance notice of the class day. Refund requests made prior to 7 days before the class date will be paid in full.

Transfers
Failure to attend a class does not entitle a participant to a transfer, makeup, prorate or refund. If Adrienne cancels a class due to low enrollment, you are welcome to transfer your enrollment to another class/the rescheduled date of this class.
