Art Book Club Online
Join me for a slow and steady reading and reflection group featuring a series of books on the practice of art making.
There is no pressure to make or share about the art you make while reading the texts in this book club. Although, it is of course supported and encouraged if art making happens as a byproduct of the reading.
The instructions are simple:
1. Read the assigned text
2. Show up for discussion times
3. Reflect and discuss the reading as a group
Discussions will happen bi-weekly on Zoom on Sunday afternoons from 4-5 pm CST.
Zoom links will be shared upon registration and recordings will be shared after each meeting for those who are unable to attend live but still want to listen to the group's discussion. If you don't complete the reading in time for the discussion, you are still welcome to attend the discussion. This is a welcoming space to discuss the ideas presented in these texts with supportive encouragement to read on when time allows.
Note: our first three books in this series are all around 130-200 pages with lots of illustrations.
I will moderate and host the discussions, providing structured questions for our discussions and further reading suggestions based on the topics in the texts.
The assigned books are not included in the book club registration.
